Artists` books Workshops
These unique two days of artists` bookmaking opportunities are led by renowned
artist book tutor Susie Wilson from Edinburgh, who brings her own special,
creativity and enthusiasm to our workshop. Her knowledge of artists` books and how
to construct them, with her energy and expertise will provide two days of memorable
introduction to making artists` books!
Cost: £80 (£10 discount for workshop members) £90 (non
members) To secure a place you must pay your fee in advance
The cost includes tuition, use of presses and tools, inks, cleaning fluids, and
some paper.

A 2 day collagraph printmaking workshop/ course will be taught by award winning artist/ printmaker Clare Yarrington at the Fife Dunfermline Print Workshop.

Collagraph printing is a technique that uses basic materials to create
sophisticated textured prints. It is a great way for the beginner to
learn about printmaking and for the experienced printmaker, it offers the opportunity to try a
rather different approach/ enhance ones skills.
First Saturday: participants will make their printing
plates
Second Saturday: participants will proof their prints through the etching press..
Numbers are limited to a maximum of seven and the cost is £80 for non
members, £60 for members.
Places are allocated on a first come basis

Introduction to Etching on Aluminium

Held over two Saturdays (10 am to 4 pm) on 7th and the 14th of May 2011.
This course will introduce you to the basics of etching on aluminium using safe, non-toxic etching techniques.
The course will be hands-on and show you simple ways of creating line and tone on aluminium plates.
Aimed at those who are new to printmaking as well as more experienced printmaker artists.

If you are interested in getting a ‘foot in the door’ where printmaking is concerned, then this is a good primer or if you are a practicing printmaker it might be that you would like to learn this material/ process.
The etching techniques that are taught on this course, are transferable to other metals such as Zinc.
